Favor baskets.. My ninja

Scratch Ninja cat.. maybe thats where my motivation is hiding.......

So I'm running a little out of steam and instead of lining these baskets like I wanted to.. I mainly just wanted them out of my way ha ha.

I did two of them. Which should hold all our favors.

These baskets were cane and light brown in color originally. For some reason the week I went looking for baskets I couldn't find them in black. So I decided I would I spray paint them. With spraying them with a 'flat black'. I waited for them to dry. Printed small signs, rounded the corners. Punched holes in them and threaded red ribbon through and secured it with a glue gun

Bold
Pretty simple.... not much work involved.. While they are not what I originally planned. The attitude for this project is that 'that will do'. I cant be bothered.

I'm sure you have some DIY projects that you put off, will this was one of them and I don't know why. :)

Quick update

So what have I been doing the last few days?

Absolutely nothing.... I decided to have a break with a few things. And I realised I hadn't blogged in 6 days!! YEE GOODNESS!

well, with my little break over.... I made a few decisions!

With the project of button balls that I have been creating, I'm nearly there! They were originally going to be used as centrepieces but instead we are lining the aisle with them! Make the ceremony a bit more DIY than reception. I still have no idea what to use on 6 empty tables as centre pieces. I have been scouring stores for ideas and FH has given me a challenge. I must not spend more that $25.00 on each centrepiece. I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge!

I also started on some baskets to hold the favours.. Attempt 1 failed so trying that one over again :(

My dress fitting is coming up... April 17th :S

This week I am starting the Couch to 5k program. Its a 9 week exercising program pretty much exactly what the title says... going from the couch to running 5k. I am really looking forward to it and the program seems really great! For the program click here:

And here is what ours look like:

Anyone DIYed there favors tags? did you use a template or create your own?

Invitations,favors and bridesmaids!

So this weekend I finished assembling invitations, all that is missing however is the accommodation card, we haven't quite put that together yet as we haven't blocked off hotel rooms (I know, 5 months till the wedding and I haven't done it, oh dear!) its on the to do list for next week.

I also started work on our favors with the packaging, as you may have gathered from previous posts that we organised to have our favors for guests as playing cards...Well they arrived!
My next task is to package them. I thought about just wrapping them in plain ribbon without doing anything with the box but that Idea just did not sit well. I also thought about wrapping them and putting a sticker on them. Well I didn't have the motivation or the creativity to even think of what to do for a sticker. So I took an easy option. I wrapped and tied it with ribbon.

The end result looking cute! So far 20 done... 160 more to go. its actually not a bad project, a little fiddly but I have been out in the lounge room with FH talking away and having a good laugh so its been enjoyable. Hoping to have this done by the end of the next week.

Also this weekend my BMs and I are catching up for a bit of a day shopping for accessories and shoes to go with their dresses also they are helping me out with a few DIY things and flower choosing.... I haven't shown you pics of their dresses yet but I promise to do that next week.

So its an exciting week coming up. I feel alot better than last week but still quite crook so I'm hoping to have the energy for when the girls come round next Saturday.

Favors are on its way! round of poker anyone?

Today I ordered our favors all 180 of them. We are having Mini Playing cards!

Excitement plus plus! It feels really good to have it sorted, but I have to wait a month before they are here :(

I got them from a local warehouse for $1.25 each however I am getting a ten percent discount on top of that so total cost is $202.50 cents. :)

I originally wanted toffee apples but that turned into such a disaster, and now decided we want something guests can keep, without breaking the bank. And if some people forget to take them, that's okay too cause I could always use playing cards!

I haven't decided yet to customize the packet with our own label. Or gift wrap them in majorly cute orange wrapping paper, what you think?
what would you do?

p.s we don't have anything like the dollar tree so I was really proud I could get them that cheap. Anyway... why doesn't the dollar tree ship to Australia? would make life easier and cheaper!
