The whole look so far for the girls.

Lets hope we can pull this off!! I just pulled this together to see how the overall look is turning out. So far Im pretty okay with it. I think I would feel better if I could see it all together on, but its not going to happen to the wedding day and it all comes together.

I hope im heading on the right track!

The girls accessories!

I havent posted in nearly a week and so much has happened!!!

So I have finally completed the girls outfit- well minus a necklace.

I bought the girls a hairpin awhile back 9.95 each. They only require one each and their so pretty!

Earrings, the girls requested non expensive earrings but they wanted bling ones. So purchased those. 10.00each.

and picked up the girls black clutches last week. So I think the overall look is coming together.
If you can imagine Red silk dresses, and black satin peep toes a black pashmina shawl for when it gets a little cool due to the wind and these accessories, I think the BMs are taken care of.

Super happy with the purchases. Overall look for the girls are
$140 dollars each without the shoes. Girls are purchasing their own. So another thing ticked off the list!

Invitations,favors and bridesmaids!

So this weekend I finished assembling invitations, all that is missing however is the accommodation card, we haven't quite put that together yet as we haven't blocked off hotel rooms (I know, 5 months till the wedding and I haven't done it, oh dear!) its on the to do list for next week.

I also started work on our favors with the packaging, as you may have gathered from previous posts that we organised to have our favors for guests as playing cards...Well they arrived!
My next task is to package them. I thought about just wrapping them in plain ribbon without doing anything with the box but that Idea just did not sit well. I also thought about wrapping them and putting a sticker on them. Well I didn't have the motivation or the creativity to even think of what to do for a sticker. So I took an easy option. I wrapped and tied it with ribbon.

The end result looking cute! So far 20 done... 160 more to go. its actually not a bad project, a little fiddly but I have been out in the lounge room with FH talking away and having a good laugh so its been enjoyable. Hoping to have this done by the end of the next week.

Also this weekend my BMs and I are catching up for a bit of a day shopping for accessories and shoes to go with their dresses also they are helping me out with a few DIY things and flower choosing.... I haven't shown you pics of their dresses yet but I promise to do that next week.

So its an exciting week coming up. I feel alot better than last week but still quite crook so I'm hoping to have the energy for when the girls come round next Saturday.

Bridesmaid Tote bags.. Instructions aye?

Right.
How to make bridesmaid tote bags. There are no pictures in this post as I have done the DIY tutorial after Ive actually made it. My apologies!!! If you have any queries, please post in comments section and I will do the best I can!

Equipment:
Colored ribbon
Paint
scissors
Canvas tote bag
Design printed on A4 sheets.
Sowing needle and thread.
Cigarette Lighter for your ribbon.

Step 1. Have several drinks to get you amped up. (CCB only promotes moderate drinking here *cough* just enough to improve your coordination and to be able to handle the task at hand. I know that I needed it since my love of painting was minimal, but you could use stencils or iron on to prevent thefrom having to paint!)

Step 2. Purchase canvas tote bag from local craft store. $4.99 per bag.

Step 3. Purchase paint. (preferably waterproof, so the bag can be washed). I purchased Jo Sonja's Artist Colors - Matte Fluid. Cadmium Orange Series 3, Burgundy Series 1. Juane Brilliant Series 1.

Step 4. Select your design. There are some interesting designs in google for bridesmaid tote bags. Lots of cute one liners and stuff. I decided to use their names instead of 'bridesmaid' so they can use it again.

Step 5. Print design. I printed my design on A4 paper and inserted this in between the canvas, I only decorated one side.

Step 6. Start Painting. I painted over my design, using a fine brush. The better quality brush the better the line i found.

Step 7. Have a drink. While waiting for paint to dry, as you don't want to lean on your bag while attaching ribbon.

Step 8. The ribbon. Measure your ribbon across the tote bag and leave a little bit more than the the length of your tote bag and cut.

Step 9. On the end of the ribbon which you about to start sowing on to the bag burn the end of your ribbon to stop the fraying.

Step 10. Hand stitch or machine stitch your ribbon to the tote bag on both sides of the ribbon. Cut off the excess ribbon and burn the end were you cut the excess to stop the fraying.

Step 11. Creating the bow. Cut 10Cm's of ribbon (or depending how big you want your bow.) simply fold ribbon inwards crossing the ribbon over one each other and sow the middle of the bow with a few stitches so it stays together by itself.

Step 12. Hand stitch the bow to the bag in whatever position.

You should by then, have yourself a bridesmaids tote bag.

Step 13. Have yourself a celebratory drink and a pat on the back.

Mission complete :D

Bridesmaids tote bag.. I loathed this project.

I would like to say first and foremost that I dislike painting... Ive always hated it.. Never liked finger painting when I was little to get my hands dirty. So believe it or not when I broke out the paint to do this job. FH looked at me weirdly... and went back to his video.

So with perseverance in hand and 5 tote bags, one for the draft, one if i stuff up and 3 actual bridesmaid bags to hopefully give to them, paint spot free. I started... buggered up the draft.

And here's the final product:

Excuse the picture quality, my study thinks the world is green and darker than usual!!!

Accessories - Hair Slide - Adorable!

I found this hair slide on sale at a store called "The Glitter Co." I am not sure if I am going to have my hair up or down yet, but I couldn't walk past them.
One of my bridesmaids is conveniently my hairdresser and she thinks they may not go with the hairdressing style she wants to experiment with but she said its always great to have accessories in reserve and we will find out at the trial run, if we will put them in or not.
Also I have just picked up my veil and that also will have a deciding factor on my hairstyle.

They were retailed at $75 AUD dollars and I purchased them for $10 dollars each! I bought two. They match my dress perfectly (I will post the dress soon, I promise!)
