My future hubby's name is Sheridan and we have been dating for 1 year and 8 months when he proposed. The day of my 24th birthday! 03 of July 2009.
My birthday happened to fall on a Friday (you will no doubt soon figure out that I love Friday! - I mean who doesn't!) and we had arranged to go for dinner for tea before meeting friends at the friendly local bar for a few drinks at 9pm.
So Sheridan had suggested that we head to this restaurant called Lime 303 - well Lime 303 is gorgeous but the food would barely touch hunger for Sheridan. (So I suggested we go to our fave food spot- The Venice a nice family restaurant with plenty of selection (sorry I'm not meant to give a restaurant review here!)
Anyway after lovely food - Sheridan asked if I wanted to go for a drive before meeting friends. I agreed and the night was very pretty and we hopped in my car which by the way had a broken headlight :( I completely forgot about this tho as Sheridan started driving. 5 Minutes into the drive we got pulled over by the police!!!! The friendly police officer told us to go home immediately because of the broken headlight and to have the vehicle fixed in the morning. We obeyed and by this time it was 8.40pm, we changed cars and Sheridan was still adamant that we still went for the drive before meeting people. I was getting a little anxious of the time because I hate being late!
Sheridan pulled into the local golf club car park (this is the spot were he had first asked me out) and said lets go for a walk, I was reluctant due to the time but he insisted. Walked to the first green and got down on one knee - I was in shock!! and couldn't believe what was happening, I saw a little white box and when it was open I don't know what i said yes too first! The box or him!
It started to sprinkle with rain and we realised it was 8.55pm and due to meet people in 5 minutes. So after a quick phone call to my parents and his dad while we were driving. We arrived with excitement and had a great night celebrating with friends.
So there is our proposal story. A little documentation down to the minute, but I will remember the night clearly. Best... Night... Ever!!
